Watch it, Suzie - "Tinkerbell" is a trademarked name, too. But you're right, it's a bit like all of us clapping our hands hoping that enough support will make a difference. It has in some ways, too. The overwhelming support reminds me that this is something worth fighting for, although I'd much prefer productive conversations with the other side to a fight. The irony is my Flat Stanley Project has been used by kids all over the world to understand each other better and to become more accepting of cultural differences, yet the two sides in this dispute can't work out something that, in a perfect world, would have taken ten minutes to resolve.

Flat Stanley's have gone across the country and world from my cousins in Canada and here in the US. My sister's 3rd grade class did this project, and yielded some fun results. My grandmother took Flat Stanley on a trip of Germany and Switzerland. This is a great learning experience for kids and a very creative endeavor created by a teacher that had vision!

Let's help out Mr. Hubert in the name of teachers who work a little harder to offer more than just a worksheet for their students.

Let's keep creativity flowing from Teachers who won't be afraid their ideas will be stolen by those looking for a quick buck.

Hard to know how this will play out, but I can almost hear the voice of Tinkerbell encouraging children everywhere to help save the little guy: "Clap your hands if you believe in Flat Stanley..."
Meanwhile, read more about the Flat Stanley saga (and why teachers love this project) here:
