POW WOW--WOW!!!
It's the last day of the Southern California Indian Center’s (SCIC) Annual Pow Wow at the Autry National Center, which will give visitors the chance to celebrate the country’s diverse American Indian cultures through drumming, songs, and dance. The festivities last until 6 tonight.

GET YOUR OBON ON
Another big cultural fest wraps up today--it's the West LA Buddhist Temple's Obon Festival 2008, which features dancing and drumming performances. Don't run out of the house to the West LA Buddhist Temple this morning, though, because things don't happen until 3 in the afternoon and last until 9 at night. LAist had a great time last year at the fest--check out our photo essay!

POWER TO THE PUPUSAS
There's free admission at the Annual Pupusa Festival, so if you aren't in the know, it won't cost you to head down to Wilshire Blvd. & Park View St. between Noon & 9, although if you want a taste of the traditional Salvadorian cuisine that's the focus of the fest, yeah, you'll have to pony up. Dishes will include fried plantains, casamiento (fried beans with rice), carne asada, and, of course, pupusa, tortillas stuffed with cheese, beans, and meat.

JAZZ IT UP
We mentioned it yesterday in Tonight in Rock, but the13th Annual Central Avenue Jazz Festival is still grooving downtown tonight near Little Tokyo. This year it's all about LA's jazz scene from the 20s to the 50s on what was known simply as "the avenue." Lots of performances to check out from 11 to 7 today.

Other Things to Do: See some of the city's best literary minds at Tongue & Groove, sample some of the libations from Rush Street's cocktail menu, see the wares at Universal Studios' Kwik E Mart, see a screening of Women in Boxes (if there's still room!), daytrip to Bishop to sample the bread at Schat's, or rock out at the Black Ghosts album release party.
