Summer Camp w/ Bloodcat Love, Le Switch & The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra @ Little Radio, 7/20/08

The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra

Last Sunday, Little Radio's Summer Camp series Downtown continued with performances by local bands Bloodcat Love (MySpace), Le Switch (MySpace), and The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra (MySpace).

This show featured, among other things:

  • During Bloodcat Love's set, frontman Myles Hendrik gave recently-axed LA Times veteran Kevin Bronson a heartfelt tribute in recognition of his support and promotion of the local indie music scene.
  • With The Movies' Timothy James manning the sound booth, The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra's frontman Hunter Costeau had some fun during soundcheck, singing excerpts from The Movies' "When I Was In 'Nam" and "Missed Opportunities".

As for upcoming shows, Bloodcat Love's are on July 28th at Detroit Bar (MySpace) in Costa Mesa, August 12th at Cinespace (MySpace) in Hollywood, and August 18th at the Silverlake Lounge (MySpace), Le Switch's are on August 9th at The Highland Park Summer Fest and August 19th at The Echo (MySpace), and The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra's are on July 31st at The Scene (MySpace) in Glendale, September 11th at The Unknown Theatre in Hollywood, and September 30th at Safari Sam's (MySpace).

This coming Sunday, Summer Camp concludes with Hypernova (MySpace), Matt Ellis (MySpace), Tenlons Fort (MySpace), The Weather Underground (MySpace), and Castledoor (MySpace) -- it will also be their 'Til We Sink EP release show.

Special thanks to Bloodcat Love, Le Switch, The Flying Tourbillon Orchestra, and Little Radio.
