Art Openings: LA Drawings, Looky See, Summertime Hues

Tonight in WeHo at Louis Stern Fine Arts is the opening of a very impressive exhibit of drawings on paper. In the Eye of the Beholder features the works of LA based artists Denice Bartels, Jennifer Celio, Mary Mallman, and Elizabeth Patterson. The drawings reflect each artists view of the local landscape; creating a unique look at the city. Opening reception – 6-8pm, thru Aug. 23rd

Friday

Friday evening is the closing of a retrospective exhibition at the beautiful Brand Library in Glendale. The exhibit showcases works acquired between the 70’s through 2007 by the Associates of Brand Library. The exhibit emphasizes California works, including several by artists from Glendale and surrounding communities. Come out and enjoy this last night of this eclectic show! Closing reception – 5-8pm

Saturday

Otis College of Art Design present Looky See: A Summer Show. This group show will present drawings, film, journals, and tons more. The opening night reception will feature “solar-powered” music by SYCONS. Opening Reception – 6-8pm, thru Sept. 13th

Left Coast Galleries in Studio City is proud to present Summertime Hues; new works by Christine Barbe. The French born artists pop-culture paintings have been very popular since the mid 1980’s. She has shown in numerous museums, and galleries both in the US & abroad, so this is a fabulous opportunity to view these works up close. Opening reception – 5-8pm, thru Aug. 14th
