So You Think You Can Dance: Twitch and Katee Make the Top 8
A few local dancers have made it to the top 8 on So You Think You Can Dance. After taking on the challenge of learning everything from a Bollywood number to a Smooth Tango, Katee Shean and Twitch Boss are standouts in the competition. Their place in the top 8 earns them a spot on the So You Can Dance tour and just maybe one of our So-Cal favorites will win the competition.
LAist asked Twitch and Katee about dance styles, some of their favorite things, and where they eat at The Farmer's Market after they finish taping episodes of the show at CBS.
Name: Twitch Boss
Currently lives in: Santa Ana
Dance style: Hip hop, freestyle
Most challenging style you have danced on the show: Smooth Tango. All the ballroom styles are a challenging.
Favorite dancer of all time: Desmond Richardson. Wade Robson is one of my heroes. He's a tall guy. Something about his energy is very inspiring.
Favorite singer: Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, John Mayer.
Favorite thing about living in Southern California: Definitely the weather. The weather is excellent.
Favorite food at The Farmer's Market: We love Pinkberry. Pinkberry anywhere. We are fools for Pinkberry.
Would you ever challenge Robert Murraine to a battle? Of course.
Name: Katee Shean
Currently lives in: Orange, student at Chapman University
Dance style: Contemporary
Most challenging style you have danced on the show: Samba because we knew none of the footwork or technique.
Favorite singer: Ne-Yo, Missy Higgins, Chris Brown.
Favorite dancer of all time: Cindy Welik and Peter Chu. The way that they move their bodies is very inspirational because it is so different from anybody else.
Favorite thing about living in Southern California: Probably that there is so much going on. There are so many different types of people that you get to interact with. It makes you grow as a person, that there is so much all the time that you can do so many things.
Favorite food at The Farmer's Market: Sushi A Go Go.
Would you ever challenge Robert Murraine to a battle? Heck no! I could not move my body like him he would beat me hands down.
