LAst Night's Action: Angels Continue to Just Squeak By

LA Angels defeat Cleveland Indians 3-2. Jeff Mathis hit a solo shot in the fifth inning to put the Angels ahead, and that was all they needed. Yet again, the Angels did just enough to get the win and get Francisco Rodriguez his 41st save. Starter Jered Weaver left the game in the third inning with a tight back, and the Angel bullpen supported him by shutting down the Indians giving up only four hits. The Angels still have the best record in baseball thereby proving that pitching and defense wins games. Let's see what happens in the playoffs.
Colorado Rockies defeat LA Dodgers 10-1. Clayton Kershaw? Forget it. He gave up five runs on 10 hits in three innings. As for the fabled humidor, apparently the Rockies only powered it halfway for their own pitcher. Heat throwing Ubaldo Jimenez pitched a complete game giving up the only run on a Matt Kemp homer in the ninth inning. The Dodgers as a team swung wildly at everything and came up empty. Maybe they were as sad as I was at the death of Estelle Getty. Bless her soul.

You might want to mention in one of your dodger updates that there is a new Dodger trolley that goes into effect on Friday. You can't beat free round trip service from Union station to Dodger Stadium. It's nice to see that the dodgers are finally offering a greener alternative to driving and parking at the stadium.
