Wiener dogs, quarterhorse racing and stadium food. How can you go wrong with that?
Last night the Los Alamitos Race Track hosted the 13th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals. The winners of the 10 qualifying heats met in the finals to take home a purse of $2,500.
The winner this year was Max owned by Harley Harland and M. & D. Priest in Hemet. Max's favorite treat is Gerber Meat Baby Food and his favorite tv show is, you guess it, The Dog Whisperer.
All proceeds from the gate and t-shirt sales went to the Seal Beach Animal Care Center, a non-profit group that finds homes for stray animals in Orange County. Since 1996, the races have raised $150,000 for the center.
Here's video of one of the preliminary heats I took with my camera. Yeah the quality is bad, but you get the gist.

Here's a link to Max's MySpace page!!
