A region-wide monorail system is the answer for the greater Los Angeles area. It is, in very way, a superior solution for mass transit. In comparison, underground is more dangerous and expensive.

I'm all for public transportation...but a downtown streetcar just doesn't sound like a smart idea in an already congested downtown area. Transit downtown should be kept underground.

" Metro's proposed half-cent sales tax for transportation projects. " Yep, and even though we don't even have it yet, I read in the paper this am that Schwarzenegger is already talking about "borrowing" from it to balance the budget.
