- And you thought Anthony Pellicano was done in court since his guilty verdict on 76 felonies were handed down back in May? Well, he's back and this time he is accused of illegally wiretapping Kirk Kerkorian's ex-wife. Let the Royal Rumble begin again!
- Dennis Farina pleaded no contest in court stemming from his May 11 arrest on carrying a concealed weapon in public. He was given two years summary probation and ordered to pay a $1,991 fine. This pales in comparison to the bail he posted on May 11 - a whopping $35,000.
- If you be representin' the 714, in addition to the recent hands-free law, you will now be required to dial a 1 + area code + number. The 11 digit dialing system will officially go into effect August 23rd.
- A not guilty plea was entered today by robbers who held the chef of Lawry's The Prime Rib restaurant at gunpoint last Friday. While attempting to get away, one of the assailants was shot by Police when he pointed his gun at an undercover officer.
- What happens when California preservationists want to camp in one of the richest towns in America? The lawsuit of Malibu vs. California Coastal Commission. Basically, Malibu is worried that campers will ignite wildfires like last year.
- A Huntington Beach woman was convicted of killing her mother today while her grandparents stood behind her saying she's not guilty. Rachael Mullenix, 19, blames the whole event on her boyfriend at the time, and claims innocence on stabbing her mother over 50 times, wrapping her in a blanket, and dumping her body in Newport Harbor.
- More lawsuits in Malibu. A girl who sued Johnson & Johnson claiming that Children's Motrin made her go blind, lost her case today.
- Hooray, it's West Nile season again! The first two cases were reported in OC by men who didn't even know they had it. So if you experience fever, headache, body aches, nausea or vomiting, make sure to get checked out!
