Art Openings: History, Miracle Mile, Inky Dreadfuls

If you’ll be in Venice this evening head over to L.A. Louver for Eduardo Sarabia’s History of the World. The large-scale installation includes paintings drawings, ceramics and sculpture featuring imagery inspired by the “black market” and “illegal cross-border commerce”. – thru Aug. 23rd

Lace up those walking shoes for the Miracle Mile Art Walk! This month’s hosting gallery is Lawrence Asher Gallery (5820 Wilshire Blvd. Ste. 100), which will be holding an artist lecture and reception at 2pm. Festivities begin at 1pm and last till 5. Download your handy map here.
Corey Helford is unveiling the much-anticipated return of M. Mararian’s Inky Dreadfuls Saturday night. Phobias, Foibles & Friends continues the artists look at mischievous children. Inspired by the stylings of Edward Gorey, and Charles Adams, these works are both morbid, and shockingly fun.
Also opening alongside the Inky Dreadfuls are new fantastical works by Tiffany Liu. Life, Death & the Inbetween explores human nature, personal reflection, renewal & growth. New paintings by Krista Huot will also be on view in the loft. – thru Aug. 9th
