Gizmodo caught wind of this gem of local TV news reporting from one of the Friday's iPhone long line reporting stories, an ubiquitous scene played across the nation, channel after channel.
KTLA Reporter Eric Spillman became Mr. Sassypants and poked fun at the people waiting in line. Instead of being funny, it just turned into one of those "awkward turtle" moments. These type of waiting-in-line-events are usually good fodder for funny videos and reporting, but not when you're some dude from KCAL. It only works when your name is the Triumph the Dog (okay, Jimmy Kimmel staff could have rocked this too). Remember when Triumph reported from the line at Star Wars? Hilarious. Classic.

IS THIS THE BUTTON YOU PUSH TO CALL YOUR PARENTS TO PICK YOU UP????
-- Triumph the Insult Comic Dog to Dude in Darth Vader Costume.
KTLA's morning news has in general become an awkward turtle. Remember Jessica and the sumo wrestlers? Anything out of Bill Smith's mouth? Cringe.
Please, just read the LA Times verbatim off the teleprompters like the rest of the KTLA news crew.
i love how sad and hurt he is by the end of it after getting off by insulting everyone else. someone can dish it out but they can't take it.
puss.
btw...iphone 2.0 is insanely great.
actually, i don't know which is more pathetic, those local-news hacks, or the Cult Of Mac followers.
