Extra, Extra: 'America's Suburb' is the 'New Ellis Island'

- Great Lede: "Police were called out to break up the annual 'mooning' of Amtrak trains in Laguna Niguel on Saturday when the crowd grew to 8,000 and many began baring more than just their behinds."
- A mudslide entered the Los Angeles Aqueduct in Inyo County. It was not damaged, but 50 homes were.
- The Downtown Art Walk last Thursday was estimated to be the biggest ever. Ed Fuentes has the low down on what happened.
- A burglary suspect died in the back of a Long Beach police car last night. Police say it was possible he sustained injuries by the residents who were holding him until police arrived.
- On the San Fernando Valley: "Sometimes it feels like I didn't leave Central America at all. I look around at Pacoima - and it seems like 90 percent of Pacoima are emigrants from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador - and it's as if Central America has immigrated here, and I think it's a different world than the one I came to live in."
