The corner of Sunset and Cahuenga in Hollywood was officially renamed Larry King Square by the City of Los Angeles yesterday. City Council President Eric Garcetti introduced the 74 year old broadcast journalist and talk show host after honoring him with accolades of his accomplishments in his field. This year marks the 50th anniversary of his professional journalism career.
On hand were several members of the CNN staff who did not need to travel far to attend. The square is located adjacent to CNN's west coast offices where his nationally syndicated show is taped.

Where's Studs Terkel square?
I'm driven to design a "fountain" for the square.
It will be a largish rectangular slab of highly polished stone. I'd say ten feet by five feet. So highly polished that it will seem mirror-like. Upon it a highly polished stainless steel rectangle with a strong steel rib at the top and a very sharp looking edge at the bottom. Between these two rectangles will be the purist white quartz arranged so that the quartz is piled up near the stainless steel rectangle along the sharp edge. Alongside the mounds of quartz will be much finer chunks of quartz arranged in a line; a mound really.
Nearby will be a rolled steel tube fashioned from steel plate. Upon the outside will be the distinct imprint of U.S. currency.
Inspired!!!
i guess they will give any criminal a square... :P
