Via L.A. Now, here's the 4th documented freeway bicycle ride. This time, it was a different group of folks (you may remember these crazy photos from Crimanimalz) and they hit the 101 and 110 starting in Silver Lake.

its only dangerous if the cars are actually going faster then 10mph. I just think its funny that our freeways are so screwed up that you can go faster on a bike then in a car. I would worry about motorcycles if I were them.

i wonder if these guys feel any personal responsibility when some pissed off cager whose rubber band snapped after dealing with this type of "confrontational" BS takes out some cyclists like happened last weekend, or if they just don't make the connection at all. either way its sad. seems like there would be more constructive ways to get whatever it is they are going for without making even the considerate cyclists like me into targets of road rage.

I think that clip was pretty cool obviously there only doing it at peak hours on the freeway so i dont see any harm done

If they truly believed in what they were doing, I'd like to see them ride on the freeway during non-peak hours. The 110 might be a good place to start since the leg from Pasadena to downtown was originally built a futuristic bike way back in the early 1900's.

Dangerous yes, stupid yes.

I take public transportation every day, but these dumb rides aren't raising awareness about anything. EVERY major city has traffic jams during certain times of the day. LA County has more residents than the entire population of the state I grew up in and I was still suck in traffic when driving around there.

As an avid cyclist the last thing we want is knuckleheads adding fuel to the fire. It's bad enough when some asshole tries to kill us when we're riding legally down a road. To do this shit on a freeway is just BEGGING for more incidents. Whoever did this and thinks it's cool, do us all a favor and try the same shit when the cars are going freeway speed....you'll get recognition in the Darwin Hall of Fame!
