I never understood the whole notion of a secret recipe. I mean, come on, what's the point, especially after you die? It's like a secret song, or a secret poem. It doesn't exist. Nobody wins.

When i was in college, I asked my grandma for her Mole recipe. She's from Mexico and ran a restaurant on the Southside of Chicago in the 50s. She laughed at my request and carried the secret to her grave. :(

I went to the one at the Farmer's Market. $11 and change for a breakfast burrito and coffee? You can keep it. Chorizo and eggs don't cost that much, and they're actually hard to screw up. The graphics on the stand are interesting, but not $11 worth.

I went to the new Loteria Grill this weekend and I wasn't impressed by their mole burrito. Mole is one of my favorite Mexican dishes and this mole had no flavor. I'm going to stick to eating my mole at La Serenata de Garibaldi at 1842 East First Street.
