Across the Universe with Buzz Aldrin

Last night Mods and Rockers screened Space Movie. Before the film, astronaut Buzz Aldrin gave a brief introduction to the evening, encouraging us to continue space exploration. Then director Tony Palmer did a Q&A with organizer Martin Lewis about the making of the film. Brit Palmer encouraged Americans to have more pride in their space heroes.

The lagniappe that has become Martin Lewis' trademark was the NASA footage of "Across The Universe Day" - an event Martin was involved in this year in which NASA beamed the Beatles song "Across The Universe" into Deep Space.

Afterwards there was a short Q&A with Buzz Aldrin. But the evening was just getting started. The Mods and Rockers clubhouse was packed with space fans. I was seated at Mr. and Mrs. Buzz Aldrin's table. I guess I have proven that I can be trusted not to break down in tears and claw at celebrities. So far.
