Bicycles & Public Transit are Big News

It wasn't too long ago where a story on alternative forms of transit in the LA Times or Daily News were rare. But these days, with the help of gas prices, it's almost a daily occurrence. Today, the Times has not one, not two, but three featured stories on alternative use -- two of them on bicycle issues.

And not only that, last night, CBS/KCAL (video below) and NBC ran the Mandeville Canyon bicycle story that originated here on LAist (some said ABC and FOX may have also ran the stories). KFI AM 640 also ran with the story in the early evening.

In the Times today, the Business section ran a story on bicycle sales and commuters and the California section ran two features: West Hollywood's plan on rescinding a law that banned cyclists from sidewalk riding (it's old news, but a good thing bring up again) and a story about people starting to try public transit. Is this a transit advocate's dream come true?
