The Art Of Ronald Dzerigian w/ The Pity Party @ Echo Curio, 7/3/08

The Pity Party

Last Thursday, Echo Curio (MySpace) presented a show with local artist Ronald Dzerigian (MySpace) and local band The Pity Party (MySpace). Much of The Pity Party's merchandise showcases Dzerigian's artwork, and this evening featured their free limited-edition show-exclusive Rubbish EPs with hand-drawn art by Dzerigian on unused vinyl billboard material (which was also used for their recent Orgy Porgy EP).

As described by Wikipedia, "[Dzerigian] has been characterized as a neo-Dadaist, although there are Neo-romantic and mystical elements to his aesthetic orientation."

Among those in attendance were bandmembers from Silversun Pickups (MySpace), The Movies (MySpace), and Twilight Sleep (MySpace).

Also on display that evening was the artwork of local artist Carol Powell (MySpace), and opening for The Pity Party were local bands Malik Moore (MySpace) and Chase Frank (MySpace).

Special thanks to Ronald Dzerigian, The Pity Party, and Echo Curio.
