Prior to the Maloof Money Cup the largest prize in skateboarding was the x-games, and the only prize winner was 1st Place, getting $50,000. By the way, x-games makes so much money, that not paying all the other skaters is an insult.

It also seems like nothing when compared to the Maloof Money Cup's $100,000 first prize for street, $75,000 and an SUV for for Vert, $75,000 for first place women's, as well as cash prizes for all the other appropriate rankings. I think even 8th place gets a small fist-full of cash.

But it's this street course that has everyone shitting their pants. They're making the whole damn thing out of concrete, and designing it to resemble some of the world's most best skate spots.
