LAst Night's Action: Three Out of Four Ain't Bad

Hooray Victory

LA Dodgers defeat Houston Astros 5-2. Chad Billingsley is starting to live up to his billing. He only gave up two unearned runs in eight innings while throwing only 92 pitches. James Loney, Andre Ethier and Blake DeWitt helped the cause. Loney hit a solo homer and an RBI double, Ethier hit a solo shot and DeWitt drove in two on a single. Heading to San Francisco for this afternoon's game, the Dodgers will be met by Nomar Garciaparra and Andruw Jones. Expect both of them to start.

Notable Notes

Across the pond at the Championships Wimbledon the Williams sisters will meet yet again in a grand slam final. Venus Williams dispatched Elena Dementieva 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) and Serena Williams defeated surprising Chinese Zheng Jie (6-2, 7-5). This will be the seventh time they've clashed in a grand slam final with Serena edging older sister Venus 5-1.

Much to the happiness of Madonna and Lenny Kravitz, whispers have been heard that Alex Rodriguez and his wife are separating. It makes you wonder if Derek Jeter is crying in his pillows now.
