TV Junkie: Thursday
Oops, so there is something more to look forward to this month on TV: the July 17th premiere of "The Gong Show" on Comedy Central. The show will be hosted by Dave Attell and judged by (among many others): Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Brian Posehn, Adam Carolla, Kate Walsh, Andy Dick, Ron White, Dave Navarro, Greg Giraldo, Jim Norton and JB Smoove.
7:00pm Tom Jones TCM - (1963) With Albert Finch as Tom Jones, the lusty hero who meets a series of attractive women in 18th-century England, you know, before they had toothpaste and deodorant.
8:00pm Last Comic Standing NBC - The top 12 comedy acts are determined; Richard Belzer and Steve Schirripa return as talent scouts.
8:00pm U.S. Olympic Trials USA - Swimming. It's all about that Mark Spitz wanna-be dude
10:00pm Swingtown CBS - Things get all political when Susan defies Bruce to attend a free-speech fundraiser - what, no threesome?
10:00pm Penn & Teller: Bullsh..t! SHOWTIME - Would private industry may be more a profitable and efficient financial support to NASA?
10:40pm My Boys TBS - Check out today's interview with cast-member Jamie Kaler!

I hope the Gong Show producers will make their show a zany party like original - we have enough wanna be showcases -- even "America's Got Talent" buzzes people OFF the stage now.
Gong prods should be shuttling the oddballs from SKIP E. LOWE'S monday showcase over to their set to keep it unique.

btw, my pal tells me that Dave Attell smokes while they shoot and rehearse on that soundstage over at Sunset/Bronson -- pretty rude and a public health violation.

yeah, Attell is a serious smoker, I saw him perform once and I could smell the cigs on him from about 20 feet away
