After leaving the Autonomous Music Festival in Victorville this past weekend (cops broke it up for lack of permits), the lead singer of the locally based band, the Young Animals, was arrested and charged for possession of a Controlled Substance. Spencer Rollins was pulled over for having is license plate light out when police asked if they could search his vehicle. From Rock Insider:

Spencer was completely sober and compliant when the cops asked to search his car. In their detailed search the police found a single pill of Darvocet - a prescription pain killer and controlled substance in the mess on the floor of his car. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Dept immediately arrested him and charged him with possession of a controlled substance which is a schedule four felony. His car was impounded and he was released from county jail the following day after posting $10,000 bail.

Rock Insider also reports that the pill came "from legitimate prescription and had been lost in the mess on the floor for over a year." Nevertheless, as with many struggling musicians, the financial hardship is a heavy burden on Rollins (he even set up a donation PayPal on their website). "Meanwhile," Jax at Rock Insider quips, "dozens of violent criminals, sex offenders, and pedophiles roam the streets scott free."
