DIGITAL : Digital LA’s holding its “Digital Drinks” networking event tonight at the Parlor in Santa Monica. Stop by if you’re an Internet professional: online advertising, marketing, entertainment, e-commerce – does blogging count? – for the event from 6-10 pm. If you need more enticement, how about $3 drafts, $4 well drinks, $1.50 sliders and appetizers and Rock Band and Beer Pong as the evening goes on.

FILM: There’s a preview of Catherine Breillat’s The Last Mistress tonight at 7:30 at LACMA. The film focuses on a poor Parisian nobleman who’s engagement to a rich, young aristocrat is threatened when his affair with an Italian courtesan is exposed. People are talking about the Asia Argento’s steaming performance as his mistress. Can you say en fuego?

TALK: Machine Project is hosting a Disruptive Patterning Collaborative Event with Hanna Rose Shell and Sumi Ink Club tonight at 8 pm. Tonight they’ll work with participants of all ages in “building active models to explore the underlying principles of becoming invisible.” Basically they mean working with sumi ink to create abstract patterned drawings while hiding human forms in the artwork. At least we think that’s what’s happening tonight.

DODGEBALL: Sometimes getting hit with the dodgeball hurts. Really hurts. But for the wusses like us out there, there’s always the co-ed Stay Puft Marshmallow League, where the balls don’t sting. The dodgeball league comes to the Westside, beginning tomorrow evening from 6:30-9:30 pm at the Westwood Recreation Center. Come by yourself or with a team – and remember to dress to impress. Really, really high-riding gym shorts.
