The Old Spaghetti Factory on Sunset Boulevard is gone, leaving a trail of b'day party memories, indigestion and chain link fencing in its wake.
The Sunset & Gordon neighborhood has a big wide sidewalk but not much street life. The sound of the helicopter hovering overhead competes with the police sirens, the music pumping from the adjacent apartment building, the traffic on Sunset.
This neighborhood needs a park! All it takes is the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust working with City Leadership, a Developer, a Landscape Architect, Community Leadership and the people who live, work and play in the neighborhood. They came together and it's happening. Welcome to the Greening of Hollywood!
See you on the Greens!

Yay for new parks in Hollywood! FYI this park is scheduled to open in late 2010 according to the LANLT & Gerding Edlen.
WHAT?! Ill believe it when I sees it!
What is this? A news item? An update? A commentary? A suggestion? A call to arms? Filler? Is there a link to this alleged group? And why are good grammar and syntax apparantly optional now on LAist? I know it's a Monday, but jeesh!
gonzo "apparantly" thinks spelling is optional.
Griffith Park, the country's largest city park, is just up the street.
Well fuckin'aye man, lets cut up Griffith Park into 1/2 acre slabs and distribute it throughout the city. The idea is neighborhood parks you can walk to. Try walking from Sunset & Gordon to Griffith Park and then come back and tell me its just up the street. Such a fucking nerf-herder I swear.
