Here’s the down-and-dirty on happenings around town tonight.

FILM*: Calling all Ingmar Bergman fans (not to be confused with Ingrid Bergman fans). There’s a screening at the Silent Movie Theatre tonight @ 8 pm of the director’s 1959 supernatural classic The Magician. But here’s the bonus: The film will be accompanied by a live ensemble of improvising musicians. Author Louis Sahagun, who wrote Master of the Mysteries about Bergman, will present before and after the screening. $12.

SEXO Y VIOLENCIA: Lucha VaVoom’s three-day wrestling and burlesque fest opens at the Mayan Theatre tonight @ 8 p.m. Luchadores battle it out for the Summer Nacionales title. And don’t forget that in between matches, audience members will be treated to dancing, comedy and little people. $30-$60.

CRAFT MEET-UP: There’s a meet-up tonight that lets drinkers get creative: The Los Angeles Craft Mafia takes over Bigfoot Lodge @ 7 pm tonight to help drinkers create something artistic. This week the craft is "Stained Glass Prayer Candles" hosted by Morgan Kessler. All materials are provided. Hmm. Prayer candles and drinking. Maybe as a peace offering to the porcelain gods?

DOCUMENTARY FILM: At the ArcLight Hollywood, there’s an 8 p.m. screening of Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. The documentary examines the life of a colorful man and writer, covering “his intense and ill-fated relationship with the Hell's Angels, his near-successful bid for the office of sheriff in Aspen in 1970, the notorious story behind the landmark Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, his deep involvement in Senator George McGovern's 1972 presidential campaign and much more.” A Q&A with producer Eva Orner follows the screening.
