At Least Two Metro Crashes Today

A crash involving a Metro bus and a car has resulted in 9 injuries, 7 of whom were transported to the hospital. It occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 5th St. and Vermont Ave. Earlier this morning a collision between a Blue Line train and a vehicle occurred at 219 W. Washington Blvd. near Grand Ave. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the driver turned in front of the train, but the train operator saw this and quickly used the emergency brakes, therefore limiting the impact of the crash. Save for the driver, there were no other injuries.

I don't get it.

The Blue line has a track, it can't just veer off the road and hit a car. Thank god the Metro driver anticipated the movements.

When will the media get it right? Metro didn't cause the accident, some idiot who doesn't know how to look to the left, look to the right, and look to the left before making that turn.

Some dumbass driver hit a Blue line train and caused disruption for hundreds of people. Nice going idiot - hope the phone call was worth it. Jackass.

Who said Metro caused the accident?

"... a collision between a Blue Line train and a vehicle occurred at 219 W. Washington Blvd. near Grand Ave. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the driver turned in front of the train..."

The car didn't hit the train, the train hit the car. But that doesn't mean Metro is at fault, it's just what happened. Being the "hitter" doesn't mean you're at fault.
