This Week's Most Commented and Recommended

When you read something you like on LAist, we love it when you hit the "recommend" button, and we love it even more if you put your two cents' worth in the comments. Getting a dialog going with our readers and making sure we're giving you content you can use are top priorities for us.

We had another contest on LAist this week, this time it was to Win Tickets to Robert Plant & Alison Krauss @ The Greek Theatre, June 23 & 24. Entrants had to tell us some info about Griffith Park... you never know when all that info may appear again on the site!

Lakers Crawl into a Hole...thanks to being humiliated by the Celtics in Game 6. For a post that had just two sentences and a score, it sure said a lot about the NBA Finals, and folks had lots to say in the comments, too. Maybe next year, Lakers (& Lakers fans).

Dear LAist: Is this the Disneyfication of Griffith Park? Okay, so Disney rents the Observatory to hold a private party in relation to their new film WALL-E. Of course, this means closing the joint down early on a weekend, and this could be seen as a bit in your face to regular citizens who've wanted to use the venue for a shindig of their own. But should we be upset?

Photos from California's 1st Gay Marriage It was a bonanza week for same-sex couples tying the knot in our state, and the local couple that has been pushing for the law for almost a decade were the first local pair to be legally wed. We have photos from the festivities.

Water Ice Found on Mars It's not often we cover news on other planets, but this one was out of this world. From the Mars Phoenix Lander's Twitter at 5:15 p.m.: "Are you ready to celebrate? Well, get ready: We have ICE!!!!! Yes, ICE, *WATER ICE* on Mars! w00t!!! Best day ever!!" (And who knew the Mars Phoenix Lander had a Twitter?)

Anonymous Goes 'Aargh' Against Scientology Because just donning masks wasn't enough, last weekend members of Anonymous took to the streets of Hollywood in Pirate garb to protest Scientology. Aye, matey. Arrrrrrgh!
