Beastly Ball @ LA Zoo

It was a beautiful night at the Los Angeles Zoo; perfect weather and a perfect setting made the LA Zoo's annual "Beastly Ball" an event to remember. Celebrities and guests wandered the grounds of the zoo, feasting on gorgeous dishes prepared by the city's best restaurateurs and interacting with friendly animals like a boa constrictor, an armadillo, and a gray horned owl. Participating restaurants included Yamashiro, Typhoon, Pink's, Malo, El Cholo, Fabiolus Café and many, many others.

The "Beastly Ball" is the zoo's annual fundraiser; this year's event the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Assn., or GLAZA, raised $1,209,011 with an expansive silent auction and a fabulous live auction hosted by Betty White. Close to 1,000 guests attended the event at the zoo, and were treated to live musical performances as well as animal feedings and the aforementioned feast. The ball has been a part of LA Zoo history since the 1970's; this year's event celebrated the zoo's role in saving the endangered California Condor from extinction.
