Lakers Do or Die

One of the first things to remember about the Lakers is to expect the unexpected.

Throw all logic out the window since what was thought to have been known was just an illusion to begin with.

It was destined before the season began that Kobe Bryant would be traded away. It seemed inevitable the Lakers with minimal roster changes would barely be a .500 team.

But none of that happened. After being booed at home in the first game of the season Kobe Bryant, thanks to the much improved play of the team, won his first MVP trophy. The Lakers would go on and somehow win a conference high 57 games and represent the west in the NBA Finals.

And here in the finals after seemingly looking dead after their historic game four collapse, they somehow have life. It’s not their play that’s giving them life either.

The Lakers have looked nothing like the team that steamrolled their way through the Western Conference playoffs. Gone is the aggression and the bullying. The Lakers are looking like a team that’s outmatched and bullied.

Yet they have won two games

I can talk until my head explodes about points in the paint, transition offense, pick-and-roll defense, shot selection and all that other fun stuff, but what it comes down to is putting the ball in the basket. It doesn’t have to be pretty. And lord knows it hasn’t been pretty up to this point.

So who’s going to win tomorrow? Fuck if anyone knows.

Hell the Celtics are banged up and their plane was delayed (sounds familiar?), so who’s to say they are going to win tonight’s game?

The only thing that’s certain is that it’s going to be ugly and compelling. And despite everything I have said before, I AM hoping for a parade.

3-3, please.
GO LAKERS!

One possession at a time. One quarter at a time. One game at a time. Lakers have to play tougher, smarter and harder than the Celtics.

We've been having some pretty sucky games so far, let's make this one a perfect game and take the wind out of the Celtic's sails.

Go Lakers!
