With similar restaurant names, why not compare two feel-good comfy foods back to back? First, there's the Kitchen 24 in Hollywood with their Smac & Cheese ($8.95) made out of cheddar, mascarpone, smoked gruyere and topped with a basil herbed crust. Over in Silver Lake, The Kitchen serves it's Mac N' Cheese ($8.00) with extra sharp cheddar in a garlicky sauce.
Play by Play, Kitchen 24 vs. The Kitchen

- Texture: Soft vs. Al Dente
- Flavor: Rich vs. Tasty
- Presentation: Fancy vs. Homemade
- Next Time: Try something else on the menu vs. Order it Again

uhh...ok.
Pitfire has some of the best Mac n' Cheese in the city, hands down
akasha in culver city
As for the best in LA, the best I've had was the Brie Mac & Cheese at La Di Da in West Hollywood. Of course, with location being such an important aspect of a restaurant's life, the restaurant shut its doors a few years ago.
I wanna pimp for the Mac & Cheese at Pete's Cafe & Bar downtown. Also their blue cheese french cut fries are a carb-o-licious gooey treat.
