Weekend Movie Guide: That's Incredible!

Despite a striking visualization of comic-book style, Ang Lee's Hulk endured swarms of criticism from fans of the character when it landed in 2003. Fast-forward five years later and it's as if that film never happened as Marvel re-boots the character with The Incredible Hulk. The film went through one of those so-called "troubled" post-production periods (e.g. Ed Norton=dicky). Recent word of mouth, though, has been strong.

Few filmmakers have experienced so pronounced and rapid a decline in stature as M. Night Shyamalan. The gifted tyro of The Sixth Sense is now considered by many to be an arrogant, shallow, delusional ham. He will try to resurrect his reputation with The Happening (originally, The Green Effect), an environmental thriller/horror story. Mark Wahlberg stars as Everyman with Zooey Deschanel appearing as Damsel-in-Distress.

In Quid Pro Quo, underrated actor Nick Stahl stars as a wheelchair-bound reporter sent out to an investigate a story about a profoundly odd subculture in New York (too odd to mention without spoiling the impact of its reveal, but think Crash). Vera Farmiga co-stars as a member of that very subculture who becomes engaged in a relationship with Stah's increasingly hesitant reporter. Fans of Bizarre magazine will love this movie.

great movie, not as good as iron man. liv tyler sounds like shes out of breath the whole movie. too much action/less character development...that's about all i can say. the opening montage if you pay attention carefully you can see a couple cameos from characters like nick fury, and the stark people

funny scenes include ferrignos cameo and i dont know if the "hungry" scene is genius or just plan stupid.

roth was pretty cool too
