LAist: Mayor Villaraigosa Visits Israel for LAX, Harbor Security

Does this mayor do anything other than take trips? I'd like a mayor who dedicates his whole term to fixing transportation over everything else. It's what the majority of this city is most frustrated with. Shockingly we haven't had that mayor yet.

I'm sorry, but airport security is possibly one of the lowest priorities that our mayor should be addressing right now. He's the mayor of a broken city, and he's dragging over a dozen key employees halfway around the world on a security theatre junket on my dime when departments are slashing budgets and the part of the city I live in isn't even addressed in 30+ year mass transit plans? I'm sorry, but I can't wait to see Villaraigosa move on to whatever job he's ultimately laddering his way up to so he can start doing that job and stop not doing every other job he's ever had.

I sure hope he wins whatever office he's running for, because Los Angeles needs a mayor who treats this town more than just another stop on his campaign tour.

"Security improvements" a la Israel? Does that include giant apartheid walls and subjugation of peoples?
