Also - due to the environmental lobby in this state, there hasn't been a new refinery built in like 50 years, so the ones we do have are old, inefficient and actually pollute more than new ones would. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

i'd put the high cost california gas first due to the refining costs of the pollution requirements - i'd like to see a comparable graph based on taxes - that would be interesting...
