You can’t escape Sex and the City. It just happens – even at LACMA. The museum's “Costume Council” is hosting and lecture and reception with SATC’s costume designer Patricia Field. Her other big and small screen work can be seen in The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty. Tonight she’ll be interviewed by LA Times Fashion Critic Booth Moore, followed by a cosmopolitan cocktail reception and hors d’ oeuvres. The ticket price is considered a donation to the museum.

AFI at the ArcLight presents Warren Beatty and Julie Christie in Robert Altman’s McCabe & Mrs. Miller. A gambler and a madame join forces to open the best little whorehouse in town. Their venture is a success – maybe a little too much after a mining company offers to buy the out. The film’s music was composed by Leonard Cohen.

The LA Public Library’s ALOUD series focuses on food tonight in its “All You Can Eat” screening and panel discussion. Filmmaker Lisa Brenneis, Monterey Market owner Bill Fujimoto and author Paul Roberts – with moderator Evan Kleiman, host of KCRW's Good Food -- will discuss innovations and solutions to America’s highly industrialized food system.
