Mayor Villaraigosa: 'I will be campaigning for Sen. Obama'

Villaraigosa to campaign for ObamaDaily News' political blog highlights more about Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's switch from Sen. Hillary Clinton to Sen. Barack Obama. "I am focused on winning back the White House and changing the course of our foreign policy and domestic policy," he said to reporters on Thursday. "... now that Sen. Obama is the presumptive nominee, I have said for a long time that I am prepared to work as hard for him as I have for Sen. Clinton."

"That would be plenty hard," notes Don Frederick at Top of the Ticket. "It will be worth watching if the Obama campaign takes him up on his offer as part of what has to be a sustained effort on it's part to significantly burnish the candidate's appeal to Latino voters, especially in several key Southwestern states."

On Wednesday, when news first broke that Clinton would be dropping out of the race, Villaraigosa first announced his intentions. "I spoke with Sen. Clinton yesterday and I said to her, `I've never been prouder to support a presidential candidate...' Barack Obama is going to be a great standard-bearer for our party."

Mayor V needs to be focused more on running this city. We have a mayor focused on the white house, while the streets of la is riddled with crime. How about focusing on what the people of los angeles elected you to do? I'm so sick of this clown.

Now that I can't call him Hillarygosa anymore I guess Antoniobama will have to do.
