LAst Night's Action: What Can Be Said?

Kobe Trying to Break Through

Boston Celtics defeat LA Lakers 98-88. Well I called it didn't I? Two things hampered the Lakers: bad rebounding, and missing seven consecutive field goal attempts down the stretch in the fourth quarter. The Lakers were outrebounded 46-33 by the Celtics including giving up 10 offensive rebounds. The Lakers shot 41.6% while the Celtics shot 42.1%. So the Lakers know what lies ahead. And today should be a great day hearing what Vic the Brick Jacobs has to say after predicting a Laker's sweep.

Chicago Cubs defeat LA Dodgers 5-4. The Dodgers are very lucky right now. They are being overshadowed by the Lakers who turned this city inside out. That's why I hear nary a word about the Dodgers. Well anything you wanted to know about the Dodgers happened in the bottom of the ninth inning where they had the bases loaded only to have Matt Kemp strike out swinging. By the way, Matt Kemp received a four-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for his part of the fracas Tuesday night. He is appealling the suspension.

NY Red Bulls defeat Chivas USA 1-0. Just one Juan Pablo Angel goal in the 75th minute was all it took to break Chivas' three-match winning streak. Chivas' best scoring opportunity was in stoppage time of the first half when Sacha Kljestan got a loose ball through the box and shot it right on target. Unfortunately Red Bull's goalie Jon Conway's legs got in the way of the goal.

Tonight's Action

Chicago Cubs at LA Dodgers. Sean Gallagher goes to the hill against Hiroki Kuroda. Hopefully I can dodge my way around those dirty Cub fans. 7:40 pm FSN Prime Ticket, AM 790 KABC.
