Art Openings: Robots, LACMA, Collage

The worlds of science and sci-fi collide tonight in Santa Monica at the Michel Mew exhibit Robotanicals.

Four of Mew’s robots are currently on display as part of the Robots: Evolution of a Cultural Icon exhibit at San Jose’s Museum of Art, & he will soon be featured in the upcoming book Art Revolution. - thru July 12th

Will_Barras_Worm_Food.jpgOver on Wilshire, the Art Rental & Sales Gallery of LACMA is hosting an opening night party for Searching for Clarity; a new exhibit featuring the abstract works of Karin Aggeler, Richard Chow, Bruce Dean, and Valerie Mendez.

Part of a fundraising effort put on by the Art Museum Council, works may be purchased or rented by museum members.

Carmichael Gallery is pleased to present the first US exhibit of British artist Will Barras.

An Absolute Shower showcases ominous characters on mysterious journeys via dark and sometimes luminous tones.

Barras compares his works to "being strapped to the front of a passenger train which is on a collision course with another train." - thru July 6th
