Tonight in Rock: Largo's Back

Slow night in music, but make sure to check out Michele Reverte's interview with Newton Faulkner, who plays at the Troubadour tonight.

Also, tonight is the second night of Largo at the Coronet featuring folk musician Colin Hay. "Higher rent and increasingly restrictive parking helped push [Largo Owner Mark] Flanagan away from Fairfax," reported the LA Times a few weeks ago. "But he'd been searching for a 'bigger, better' place for years. 'What I mean by better is, I don't want to force people to eat and drink,' he says. 'I just want to do shows.'"

Refreshments will still be served (think beer, drinks, gelato, pastries) at the 280-seat theatre, which also has a smaller space called The Little Room what holds 60 seated people. One June 22, the documentary about Largo will premier at the LA Film Festival (tickets went on sale yesterday).

Tonight
Aimee Mann @ Amoeba Music
Colin Hay @ Largo at the Coronet
The Long Blondes @ The Glass House
Looner, Mishka, Little Jackie @ Viper Room
Django James and the Midnight Squires @ Key Club
Newton Faulkner @ Troubadour (read the LAist Interview w/Faulkner)
Gretchen Leiberum, Renee and Jeremy, Audra Mae, Jenn Grinels @ Hotel Cafe
