LA's Wildest & Hottest Volleyball Tournament: Lushness X

Last Saturday at Dockweiler Beach was Lushness X, a volleyball tournament where uniforms and outfits are "highly encouraged." It's fair to say the tournament is a party, billed with rules that include make-out sessions (usually girl-on-girl), "corndogging" (pouring water on player and forcing them to roll in sand) and an occasional egging.

LAist Photographer Tom Andrews spent the day sporting photos of the event and here's what he saw.

Yikes... uniformed frat bros & sorority hos getting sloppy in Hermosa. Thats original...uh,enjoy... I guess.

Dugg. Prepare for server over-kill.

why do all the picture galleries on LAist have to load each picture/page one by one? it takes too long to load pictures and because of that i never look at more than one or two.

isnt java what they use on facebook to scroll through pictures easily without having to reload each page over and over? why not use that or something similiar?

As a gay man, I find these females offensive. Their kissing antics - designed to titillate grubby straight males - trivializes same-sex relations. Gay people didn't spend years fighting for same-sex rights so that some attention whores on an LA beach can trivialize it in this way.

And why aren't the men kissing each other? Talk about double standards....

I would also like to know why laist.com is giving publicity to these vile women. Women kissing women for the purpose of titillating straight men is counterproductive to the cause of gay rights. It's a form of fetish.

I note that laist.com is hardly likely to give publicity to a volleyball tournament with man-to-man kissing. So why are you giving it publicity when it's women involved? Either you're selectively homophobic or you're catering to the porn crowd. Grow up, why don't you.
