GUITAR HEROES
The Guitar Center in Northridge is displaying its “Legends Collection” – famous guitars of rock gods. On display will be Eric Clapton’s “Blackie” and Gibson “335,” Stevie Ray Vaughn’s “Lenny” and the Edge’s custom Les Paul. Replicas of Clapton’s and Vaughn’s guitars will be for sale – but that won’t guarantee you’ll be able to play like them.

EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC
REDCAT hosts an evening of music by composer Harry Partch, with an ensemble playing an array of Partch-designed microtonal instruments. Directed by John Schneider, the musicians will tackle the complete score of "Plectra and Percussion Dances: Satyr-Play Music for Dance Theatre." What's his music sound like? This.

THEATRE
One of John Patrick Shanley’s earlier works, Savage in Limbo opens tonight in Studio City. The play focuses on characters in a Bronx bar – all 32 years old – where they’re on the tail end of their youthful years and on the cusp of middle age. Denise Savage is all alone and could quite possibly be the oldest virgin in the Bronx.

FILM
Hitchcock classics are on the big screen at the Egyptian tonight and through the rest of the weekend. Up first is the 1956 version of The Man Who Knew Too Much with Doris Day and Jimmy Stewart. Immediately following is the suspense-filled Strangers on a Train.

POINT BREAK*
Point Break Live! is the absurdist stage adaptation of the Keanu Reeves/Patrick Swayze 1992 flick. "Each night the starring role of Keanu will be played by a lucky individual selected from the audience. In a method that captures the raw essence of a classic Keanu Reeves performance, the lead recites all his/her lines off cue-cards held by the SuperStar PA." Whoa.

ACCORDIONS GALORE
If you're not so much into the six-strings in item 1, then maybe a little accordion music is just the ticket for your musical taste buds. The first Los Angeles Accordion Festival starts today and runs through Sunday featuring bands showcasing their accordion players. We're talking Zydeco, Cajun, Tejano and alternative experimental.
