TV Junkie: Tuesday

Gordon RamsayIf you didn't watch the late Sydney Pollack's "Recount" on HBO on Sunday (and repeated last night), you really should have. Salon.com did a huge write-up last week so it can only be reinforced that it was a high point in television this year. A great cast, well shot, created a nail biter of a show that perfectly illustrated (with humor) how badly the country was ripped off in 2000, and how low the Republican machine was willing to go in order to make the steal. Look for it to be repeated on HBO again later this week.

8:00pm The Moment of Truth FOX - Season Premiere

8:30pm According to Jim ABC - The Devil (James Lipton) collects a debt from Jim.

9:00pm Frontline/World: Crimes at the Border PBS/KCET - Lowell Bergman investigates human smuggling across the ports of entry between Mexico and the United States.

9:00pm The Andromeda Strain A&E - Miniseries, part duh. How terrible do you think this is?

9:00pm Hell's Kitchen FOX - The teams must prepare dishes in a relay race; the winning team gets a day of fun in the sun, but there's still lots of yelling.

9:00pm Deadliest Catch DISCOVERY - A deck accident slows down the Northwestern; the Cornelia Marie experiences a power outage; and there's lots of fish and crabs.

10:00pm Work Out BRAVO - Mom vs. Mom (they couldn't get it together to air this during Mother's Day week?)

12:35am Late Night With Conan O'Brien NBC - "The Beard Show'' (be very afraid)
