Possible Hostage Situation Ends at Acapulco on Sunset Blvd.

Robbery at Acapulco restaurant

Update: The robbery occurred when an employee was approached by the suspect in a bandana and a gun at the garbage dumpster. He was forced back inside where five other employees were. The problem came when the employees and suspect couldn't speak each other's languages. That's when employees bolted, according to ABC7 11:00 a.m. news. Three ran upstairs and hid in the female bathroom and the other three hid downstairs. It is suspected that the robber fled the scene sometime after this happened.

Shortly after 7:00 a.m. this morning, LAPD were called to a robbery/possible hostage situation at the Acapulco Mexican Restaurant y Cantina at 4444 Sunset Blvd. near Sunset Junction. Police surrounded the area, called SWAT, and eventually access was gained inside the restaurant where three people were found uninjured. According to the LAPD, there is one suspect, but no one was taken into custody when the situation ended around 10:10 a.m.

It's always fun to wake up to 30 helicopters circling overhead. Couldn't he have waited until at least noon to commit a robbery?

Seriously, I'm glad everyone is okay. And I won't be tellin my mom I live 3 blocks from things like this.

Cool photo but like, wtf is he aiming at?

The gunman prolly put a gun to the bartender's head to get any tequila in his frozen margarita. Last time I went there, (and never went back), a friend of mine, and I downed two pitchers of margaritas between us and didn't even catch a buzz.
