TV Junkie: Weekend Edition
Kind of a weak selection until you get to Sunday evening. HBO has been pushing Recount on all the talk shows and some Democrats have been howling about it because we are in the middle of what could be yet another tightly contested election. Let's think about this for a second, would such activists for the Democratic party, like Kevin Spacey, Ed Begley Jr., Laura Dern, John Hurt, etc. participate in a piece of work that would help dash Obama's (let's face it) White House aspirations? It's the TV Junkie Pick O' The Weekend.
Tonight
9:00pm Man vs. Wild DISCOVERY - Bear Grylls must find his way out of a petrified swamp devastated from the 2004 tsunami.
9:00pm The Odd Couple TCM - (1968) TCM has been showing this a lot lately but tonight it's part of a mini Jack Lemmon marathon. This classic from Billy Wilder can't be beat on a slow night like tonight.
11:35pm The Late Show With David Letterman CBS - Actress Liv Tyler; the always funny sex educator Sue Johanson; comic Tommy Johnagin
12:35am Late Night With Conan O'Brien NBC - Actress Kristin Davis; radio personality Ira Glass; Ryan Bingham performs.
Saturday
8:00pm 300 HBO - (2007) Spartan King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his warriors fight to the death against King Xerxes and his massive army. Watch for lots of unnecessary muscle flexing.
9:00pm The Academy FOXReality - Season Premiere
10:00pm Apocalypse Now TCM - (1979) Watch it without commercials, finally.
Sunday
9:00pm No Man's Land IFC - (2001) Two soldiers (Branko Djuric, Rene Bitorajac), a Bosnian and a Serbian, become trapped in a trench between their armies' lines.
9:00pm The Tudors SHOWTIME - Anne gets dumped by Henry. Whaddaya wanna bet that next week will feature the decapitation?
9:00pm Recount Docudrama HBO - (2008) In 2000, Florida officials re-count the votes of presidential candidates George W. Bush and Al Gore. Relive the nightmare! Wait, we re-live it every day.
10:00pm This American Life SHOWTIME - Fighters

Billy Wilder didn't have anything to do with The Odd Couple. Perhaps you're confusing it with The Fortune Cookie, The Front Page or Buddy, Buddy.

jeffcdo you are absolutely right!! I apologize! When I was writing my post, I was watching TCM and they were running the Jack Lemmon/Billy Wilder filler clip that they regularly run, and I was like "oh yeah, and they did 'The Odd Couple' too" - so my mistake, thanks for catching that.
