Oh there are plenty of bad non-religious reasons. What immediately springs to mind involves institutionalized sexism against women, and latent fear of homos. That is, they want the former barefoot and preggers in the kitchen, and the latter kept in the closet. It's usually phrased as the "traditional" or "special" nature of marriage.

I will never understand how someone could believe in a god that "abhors" someone. How does that work? #2: Are there even any BAD non-religious arguments against same-sex marriage? Is there any basis for denying this right outside of religious protocol? I don't think this is ever going to stop until we ratify a constitutional amendment but if it's true that californians are virtually split on the issue I guess we're a very long way off from that happening.

When the fuck does liberty come into play in this whole discussion? I don't care how many people vote against it, choosing who you love is a fundamental human right which mustn't be denied by the tyranny of the masses. Oh, and I'm still waiting to hear a good, non-religious argument against same-sex marriage.
