BARGAIN BOOZE
For those of us who would prefer to have cheap drinks at a happier hour than early evening, The Mint has the answer: Midnight Happy Hour. Finlandia drinks are only a $1.

ART OPENING
The work of 30 artists is presented in this brand new mixed-media show at the Santa Monica Museum of Art that is focused on puppetry. Participating artists include: Guy Ben-Ner, Nayland Blake, Louise Bourgeois, Maurizio Cattelan, Anne Chu, Nathalie Djurberg, Terence Gower, Dan Graham, Pierre Huyghe, Christian Jankowski, Mike Kelley, William Kentridge, Cindy Loehr, Annette Messager, Paul McCarthy, Matt Mullican, Bruce Nauman, Dennis Oppenheim, Philippe Parreno and Rirkrit Tiravanija, Thomas Schütte, Doug Skinner and Michael Smith, Laurie Simmons, Kiki Smith, Kara Walker, Andy Warhol, and Charlie White.

BOOK SIGNING
Evan Handler presents and signs his book It's Only Temporary: The Good News and Bad News About Being Alive at Vroman's tonight. It is the actor and leukemia survivor's second memoir.

THEATRE
The Playwrights' Arena brings to the stage Hillary Agonistes, a 2007 NY Fringe Festival honoree (Best Direction) which depicts just what happens when President Hillary Clinton has to take that fateful 3:00 a.m. call. Hills is played by Priscilla Barnes (you know, Terri on Three's Company).
