LAX has earned it's best rating ever this year -- average. The Daily News reports on the J.D. Power and Associates airport satisfaction study that was released yesterday and finds that LAX is crawling up the list year by year.
"They're fairly consistent and moving their way up with lots of little, incremental improvements here and there," Jim Gaz of J.D. Power told the paper. "But they haven't really gone out and done a big improvement or expansion program, which is what's really needed."
Five years ago, LAX ranked 19 out of 20 airports. This year, they earned 10th in a list of 19 with survey results showing that LAX had a three out of five in all categories: security check, check-in/baggage check, airport accessibility and overall satisfaction. A new renovation project could cost around $5 billion and help boost the ranking. LAX may be ugly, but that $5 billion would probably do the city better going towards the Mayor's touted "Subway to the Sea," no? Pretty airport or traffic?

they might reason that funding the airport would make our city look more welcoming and pretty for tourists, but im pretty sure tourists would also rather have a reliable public transportation system in place...
but knowing our government we will get a pretty airport that causes construction/traffic delays in the area...

No joke sam... The fact that there isnt a reliable public transport (meaning rail, and bus) to LAX is insane. Its an issue that has been debated over and over. They (meaning the govt.) will attempt superficial improvements here and there spending waaaay more money than is necessary instead of addressing the issue, saving money, and making it easier for locals (and tourist) to get around our fair city.
