Eye Nosh: El Portal in Pasadena
El Portal is a popular Mexican restaurant specializing in Yucatán-influenced food. Oh damn, that guacamole looks good right now. They are located on Green Street within Pasadena's Playhouse District. Poc chuc is tender pork cooked with acidic flavors like orange and vinegar and usually served with onions.

i live in pasadena, so i go here often.
the vegetarian burrito hits the spot :)
chips and salsa are good, but no one can
beat el cholo on fair oaks.

This place is like a lot like el cholo on fair oaks. And in my opinion thats not really a good thing.

Interesting side note: Yahaira's Cafe is a breakfast/lunch place in the same center and owned by El Portal. It's a fabulous place for brunch on the weekends. Great food and wonderful service!
