For some reason one of the entries for this evening didn't make it into yesterday's Weekend Edition post and that is the Pick O' The Night:

As we reported from New York earlier in the season, there's something about SNL this year, with the addition of new players and several new writers, that leads one to believe that things are really starting to come back together for the show. During the peak of the Democratic primaries, SNL was in the news every week with its guest spots of the candidates and fantastic impressions of them by Fred Armisen and Amy Poehler. Standout cast member, Kristen Wiig, is set to become a featured player with the imminent departure of Amy Poehler (to film star glory).

Steve Carell's performance in this week's "The Office" finale was stellar so it's great to see him one more time before we head off to rerun land until.....? Let's remember that there is an imminent SAG strike so it might be quite a while before we see new material from anyone. For those of you patient enough (they started about 15 minutes late) to have participated in NBC's Thursday live blog with Paul Lieberstein aka "Toby", you would have found out that NBC has signed up for another 28 episodes of "The Office" as well as Lieberstein, by request, treating everyone with the lyrics of some of Michael Scott's party songs, including:
