Is is against TV picks to mention local sports? Are the picks just TV things and the sports get a separate mention. Or does the fact that the Lakers are in the middle of a playoff run just go without saying? Sweet win by the MVP and his crew today btw. I bet JB passed out from the close calls by

I was gonna say...

I bet JB passed out from the close calls by Utah at the end.

Manny, thanks very much for asking your question. The TV Junkie column is always in a process of evolution and while we don't mention sporting events unless they are a major TV event like the Super Bowl, etc. we used to cover them quite extensively (check out our posts from a year ago). The problem was that the column, in order to give all sports fans a fair shake, ended up having a 1/2 dozen or more line items in each post comprising at least 50% of the column, meanwhile we do have great sports reporting so the redundancy became unnecessary. There's a great post about last night's game up this morning as you can see.

So the TV Junkie focuses primarily on Prime Time TV as highlights programming that does have an LA focus. Thanks again for your feedback. We will be doing quite a bit of Olympics reporting later this Summer but again, that's a remarkable event that comes by every 4 years - whereas the Lakers should really be in the finals every year.
