To be fair to the city: I *had* a large ficus just like those in my back yard...before a very strong wind blew it right over and smashed my block wall. That kinda sucked and cost me some bucks. That could get expensive if we are talking commerical property (all the permits, etc)...so yeah, I can see them wanting to remove those relatively "soft-wooded" type trees.

Believe me mate, Ginko smells are the least of your worries in that part of SM. Not unless you are impervious to stale piss odour :)

I wonder if these morons know how bad ginko trees smell. It's disgusting. Hopefully they're smart enough to only plant male (non-smelly) trees. Doubtful though.
